The National Geodetic Survey - The premier survey control agency of the U.S. This site has excellent references on geodetic surveying and state plane coordinates which may be downloaded. Geodesy for the Layman is especially interesting. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Publications - all available for download. The Engineering manuals (EM) are of particular interest, especially the pub on NAVSTAR GPS Surveys. Ohio Geographically Referenced information Program (OGRIP) - This site has info for those with an interest in Geographic Information Systems. You can obtain Digital ortho quarter quads (aerial photos) and USGS topographic maps in digital raster graph format.
